2005 V6 Exhaust Flex Pipe repair...
Passing along this good news!
As outlined in this thread (https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...-an-05-v6.html), my 2005 V6 with about 100k on the clock was leaking exhaust through the flex pipe. This is a short piece of exhaust that connects the manifolds to the main exhaust pipe. It is a Y-pipe with two (!) catalytic converters and four oxygen sensors. This is a $1,400 part from Porsche, and I found it online for about $1,100. However, my indy did some poking at my request and the equivalent Touareg part is a direct replacement and costs $625 from his supplier. I had my indy purchase the part - both because it was convenient and the supplier offered a full refund in case it didn't fit. However, I also found them on eBay for $325.
During the install, my indy found that the Y ends are a little closer together and held with a bracket. They cut the bracket off and spread the ends a little and it went on with no other problems. The final bill came to about $1,200, so less than the cost of the part alone!
Chuffed with that!

I just had the flex pipe on mine replaced.
They had to remove the manifold and the cats, so $500 or so in labor for that. Then weld in the new flex pipe.
I am out the door for $630, better than the $2200+ quoted from the dealer.
