Snow that is. Any photos?

It's not over yet - it's still snowing! Neither of the Porsches have left the garage, so the best photo I have is of my son's Subaru sitting outside yesterday afternoon.

My best estimate is that we got right around 30 inches. We're supposed to get another 3 - 5 inches today.

I can poke fun at it, we lived in Eastern PA for a few years, on 3.3 ac w/ a 340' driveway! I used a Ariens snowblower for the driveway and even then I would be dripping with sweat by the time I finished blowing that thing. Damn thing though, since we were in farm country the wind would just blow it right back on the driveway, didn't even wait for me to finish first!

I got out and cleared the driveway this morning. I've got an Ariens too - it's awesome. Locking differential, 6 forward speeds, 2 reverse speeds, headlight... it's a good machine.

I snapped a few more photos, including a few of my wife heading out to the gym in the Cayenne. I also got a closer up shot of the Subie...

My Ariens didn't have the headlight though. IIRC it had a Tecumseh engine with electric start but I never needed the electric, started 1st or 2nd pull every time.

You leaving the cleaning of the Subi to your son?? Subi probably works better up there than the Volvo.

Thanks! This is my other son... and yes, the Subie works great up here. He's outside digging it out as we speak. My older son destroyed the Volvo. He took it "camping" here in the mountains. Not surprisingly, it didn't do well on rugged mountain trails. He damaged the suspension and the radiator. After repairs, the radiator still leaked a bit. I told him to religiously check it and add coolant, but he chose to ignore that advice and he burned up the engine. He's up at CSU now for his freshman year, and he's there without a car.

Dennis, it appears the big dump missed most of the ski areas?

Unfortunately, the ski resorts didn't really get this storm. It stayed east of the continental divide. The sweet spot was in the foothills, between 6,000 and 9,000 feet of elevation. I live at about 7,500 feet, so I'm right in the snow zone!

Teaching him that irresponsibility has it's consequences......good for you! Usually the earlier they learn that the cheaper the lesson.

True...

The Volvo was actually car number two for that son. He wrecked the Pontiac Grand Am that I bought him roughly 6 weeks after he got his license. I'm not a big fan of buying a teenager a brand new car for his or her first car. My oldest son proved to me that I was right for thinking that way.

My younger son has never had a wreck or a ticket. Maybe he learned by watching his older brother...

If you don't mind, what kind of tires are you preferring in all that white stuff?

I drop down from my 20" Sport Techno wheels to 18" Cayenne S wheels for winter. I'm currently running Michelin Latitude Alpin tires, and I'm very pleased with them.
