Does anyone have a problem their passenger side lca with the lca lights staying on too long or it comes on when there is nothing around? I've noticed this more than a few times and wondering if anyone out there is experiencing the same issue.

I haven't experienced anything like that with mine. Sounds like a faulty sensor.

Exactly the same issue as mine on the 12 Pepper. I had taken it to the dealership, they know of the issue but no fix yet and even tried recalibrating but no good. They would like me to bring in the truck for a longer period to test (3-4 days). I told them to contact me once they have heard form Porsche about this and the fix. I would not like to be the Guinea pig.

Haven't had a problem with LCA yet.
Just about 15,000 km and getting it back from service today.
Hope it won't become a problem with the software update being done.
We do get our backup camera for the first time!
Happy New Year!

Yanks,
Happens only on the passenger side. The driver side has never gives us any false positive readings. From what I have read, the passenger side LCA sensor is a "slave" and works in tandem with the master on the driver side. I am wondering if the passenger side is lose out of its socket or something.

Bringing it to the dealership next week. I'll let you know what happens if anything. They did ask me if it happens when the car isn't warmed up or if it happens during the day or night. To my experience, its pretty erratic when it happens. Sometimes it works fine but other times I'll be looking over my shoulder a few times and find nothing there when lca is on.

Did you guys ever get a resolution on this? Our driver side was erratic and now the system seems to have failed (I can adjust the intensity, so the lights work but then they never come on in normal operation like highway with traffic)

I was about to post this myself - thank you :^)
Yes, it happens with my car too - only passenger side, and mostly when I driving on the Highway Service roads. So I think it has something to do with speed and maybe the guard rails.
I would be following this thread closely ...

I have had our 2012 Cayenne at speeds over 200 km/hr on highways, many speeds below that on most every type of road, some with interesting items on the side of the road, and the LCA has worked very well.
It does give an indication when the relative speed of the object in your rear quarter warrants.
I have had indications and thought "there is nothing there" done a double check and a motorcycle will come up very fast on the side with the LCA indication.
Which is what it is supposed to do - help you see what may be more difficult to see.

Not saying it's a fail-proof system, but I get a false positive every time I go past a specific guard rail on a specific stretch of road. Something out there causes a reflection of the radar waves that makes the LCA flash briefly. Only one other time in 15 months and 11000 miles have I gotten a false positive, also on the driver side. Haven't yet experienced one on the passenger side. My only complaint is that it's automatically disabled whenever trailer wiring is connected
