I have both on my 2011 as they came with the Premium package I ordered on my V6. I'm surprised how useful I found the park assist to be. Thought I would miss the rear view camera after having it in my last car, but the park assist fills in nicely- works well and very few, if any, falses. However, I can see how it would be a pain in cities w tight quarters like NYC.

I can't comment on the servo as I don't know what the drive would be like without it, but this is the best driving SUV IMO.

Also, is servotronic required ?

As far as water goes, the sensors will false signal in very cold weather after a car wash, but you can shut them off. The system will operate normally once they dry. (Cold = below zero F)

My wife will not drive any car unless it has back up camera and parking sensors. I think in the future these features should become mandatory as they can potentially save lives. From time to time you hear news stories that drivers ran over small child when backing up. The technology is really not that expensive and I hope it is installed in more cars. I remember touring in Japan 20 years ago and all their tour buses have back up camera.

Technology does not replace careful driving. I think in some cases it creates accidents cause by over confidence

Get out and look

Imo Park Assist is a must have option.
My first 958 was a V6 ordered without Servotronic, now I have it in my CS.
I prefer the additional boost Servotronic offers just while parking, both have the same feeling while driving.
I wouldnt order a Cayenne without it.

Thanks all for your advices.

After test driving today one Cayenne without Servotronic,
I've decided to go without it BUT will add the park assist to my configuration. My build date is somewhere in february 2012

Cheers,

Alex

Can you describe the differences and why you went without it?

I've seen a number of people reversing into things because they had no warning from the "park assist".

No doubt. It's a park ASSIST. If one doesn't use it as an aid, in addition to good judgment and awareness, you're asking for trouble.

That's why you need the back up camera as well. We have been using these features for over 10 years on our various cars and we've never backed into things or people (touch wood).

Odd, I drove for 15+ years without a back up camera or park assist and never backed into anything, either...
