Yah .... I'm with you on the noise .... Porsche = tires, tires, tires ... although my XJR is not far behind.
Normally, I hope for two seasons out of the summers (15k) ...... I'm finishing my third with the Goodyears .... they are beginning to sing ....so if I have the car next spring .... I will need a new set ....... same on the Jaguar. I could not get through the second summer with the OE tires. Funny thing is my winter set looks great -- and they still feel soft ...so I hope to be good this winter without getting them replaced.
The DWS's are only $125.00 w/o shipping and install from Tirerack for the size on my wagon -- at that price I was figuring I may risk the side wall damage. The idea behind the tire design looks valid ......... another thing in the back of my mind is that I have never had good look with Conti or cars with Firestone OE tires.

I see your point about summer vs. all-season if you have a set of dedicated winter tires. That's certainly my choice on my 911. For me, the performance difference isn't that noticeable with the DWS on the Cayenne, and I like the protection during the transitional months. We had snow in early June here this year. I also like the tread life of the all-seasons a little better.

I'm running Michelin Latitude Alpin on my Cayenne now. They are very good.

I got the Bridgestone Blizzaks installed last Saturday on the P!G. No snow yet to try the tires. I can report after I try them in snow. The car came w/ new summer tires and we did not want an all-season on it at this time. Probably when they both wear out, we will get the conti DWS tires.
