Wink why retrofit?

I have the cayenne 2012 v6 without clock in dash. did side by side comparison of one with and without and IMHO i like the no clock in dashboard...i would prefer it in the instrument panel instead, messes with the symmetry of the dash.....

Sounds like a very objective opinion, as you don't have the clock in your dash.....

I have a 2012 v6 with compass in dash.... I think it was worth $400 or whatever over having the clock...

Default why retrofit?

I failed to mention I showed the dash with and without the clock in it to others for objectivity sakes...and the same results..clock looks like an out of place bulge...

I can understand that since you have the unsightly bulge...your lack of objectivity

PS. if Porsche offered to retrofit at no cost....I would pass. Is that objective enough????

Looks pretty symetrical to me
Its exactly what the dash needs

I have to admit, it does look good in your cayenne...I contacted US hdqrtrs in Atlanta and posed the question of the free retrofit for those who may want it in their prechange 2012 models. I will post the outcome when I hear back....

I just noticed in your picture, you have an aftermarket navigation unit. Do you think that is better than the factory with the xm live traffic? I have the navigation with xm, I dont listen to regular radio anymore, sirius xm is the best. I can hear the best retro, 80's, 90's, talk, etc. Without it, it would be a dealbreaker....

I think attached nav is from Mr. Jerry's European Delivery of loaded CTT.... BMW seem to be able to program the on-board nav for ED use, but it may not be the case for Porsche....

I thought of vacationing to Germany this spring, but the air fare is like $350 (from EWR), yet the fee + tax is like $700 -> total $1000+! Renting a BMW 5er for a week seem reasonable at $1200, but I am afraid if there is any catch there as well....

Jadrie,

Any response from Atlanta. I called about the same thing and got the response that this is a dealership matter. Working on them now. Let me know if you got any response.

Get the compass altimeter and look at your dash / watch / iPhone for the time.

In certain views of the PCM and the TFT screen tube, no clock is visible for the driver or passenger. To address the issue, a software change has already been made for all cars produced from 31st of May 2011 to display the time in the bottom right corner of PCM or CDR-31 in the staus line. The staus line will now also be shown in the MAP view of PCM.
As an additional short term measure and to support customers with this very basic functionality need, all cars produced from 19th of September 2011 will feature a starndard Sport Chrono clock on the dashboard. This clock will display the time in both digital and analog form.

******

All Cayenne models produced from 19th of September 2011 will have additional door lock/ unlock buttons in the door panels on driver and passenger side in the door open shell. The lock button will have an LED indication to give the driver & passenger feedback on the locking status.
