Default advice on 08,09

hello - i have a 997 targa4s and trying to convert the wife to let go of the lexus gs350awd for a cayenne. I am considering an S, and wondering if any major differences between the 08 09 in terms of reliability or major problem points?
thanks much. The only reason considering the S is that in the preowned market, the upcharge for an S is 1-2k but obvioulsy a nice performance boost for when I take it for groceries!

Only thing I know about is the '08 has 2.1 (?) PCM and the '09 uses 3.0. 3.0 is touch screen and from what I hear is far better than 2.1.

Personally I would love an '09 GTS. Best of luck on the search.

Bill - sweet 993....the GTS is a neat little SUV - if for me, I would go with the 6 speed GTS; however the all arounder is the S, more satisfying than non-S, but not as stiff as GTS...
