Default WHEEL CHOICE

Happy weekend all!

I'm a newb on this side of the board for I've owned my 951 for 2 years..I just picked up a 05 CS and I love it...I'm a serial car owner and have had many cars ...I've always been a Porsche freak as a kid ever since I saw Ferris Bueler fell in love with the 928..I'm looking at kind of making this CS my own...so far just wrapped the silver trim in black adding Eibachs and just started looking at wheels...I'm stuck between these two and would like some thoughts on which one and what size 20 or 22..I've never had a 22 inch wheel on any of my vehicles and am a little worried about ride...this set I will be purchasing will just be for summer will be using stocks for Chicago winter....Thanks all and look forward to contributing

Glad you're enjoying your Cayenne. Personally, I think 20-inch wheels look very good on a first gen Cayenne. I think something as large as 22-inches looks a bit cartoonish on the Cayenne. That's my opinion, but it's your car. If you like 22s, then you should get them.

I don't recall a 928 in Ferris Bueller's Day Off... Did I miss something?

I never considered the 22's, I was too worried about ride quality suffering. I went with 20" GTS style wheels because I run A/S tires on mine. In Nashville I think you need a non-summer tire for winter but think snows are a bit of overkill (for us). Very pleased w/ the 20's.

Best of luck on your decision and enjoy.

Don't forget to buy a t-shirt when they come out just don't pay for it through that Nigerian scam artist commonly known as Divot Enterprises.

I am partial to 22s in the summer and 18s in the winter with some M&S tires. That way, if I want to go light "off roading" I can use the 18s.

If it were my car, I would get the 5 spokes and a big brake kit for them to show off!

You are hampering my hurricane recovery fund. I lost 6 corn plants and had severe tomato damage.

No wonder you can afford clean underwear.

Sorry OP. 22s are reported to be very harsh. Go with the 20s.

You are really showing your age with that "clean underwear" fixation. Aren't you using adult depends by now and they're usually the disposable kind?

Only someone that can afford to launder their underwear consider Depends as disposable. Now, thanks to Bill, I have to go commando.

On our own 05 TT we went from 22 down to 20. The vehicle is far better to drive on our roads. Feels lighter and more nimble on its feet. YMMV

Cheers

No, no, no! You're not blaming me for that.
Take some of those blown down corn plants and wrap them around yourself.

Or better yet, how about a rose bush??

tape,
I ordered wheels online and the genius at the company forgot to tell me that my OEM lugstuds would not work. After 4 balances and rotations and 2 sets of tires I called up the wheel seller and said there was a problem with the wheels. He proceeds to inform me that our OEM conical lug studs(I believe that was the term) were not compatible with the wheels and I needed ball seat studs. I got those from the buyer(I work at Pep Boys corporate office) and voila, bad wobble has dissapeared. Needless to say the wheel supplier received an ugly conversation in regards to not telling me that I needed new studs.
