Is a rough idle coils or what?
I have always hated a rough idle. Should I check my plugs first? Need some guidance. Thanks!

Idles slightly rough at a stop and at initial startup, not while rolling. Drives and accelerates great. 2004 CTT.

I'll have the fuel pumps/pressure checked if it's easy enough to do. Not noticeably worse after fill-up.

Got it. My thought was fuel pump.

When my coils went, I got a CEL and it smelled like burning sulfur.

Yeah nothing like that. Occasionally I get a waft of weird air freshener or something when I first start the AC after work, not in AM. It does not smell like coolant either.

The A/C smell is most likely not related.
Mine did run rough at times -- no codes -- and it was the coils.
Another strange thing about my 06 -- it can not be left running while you are refueling. I normally don't do it with my cars but early on it was running a few times when it was getting gas and the car would stumble and give me a rough idle for hours after?
It must get air in the fuel system - can't think what else it could be?

You will know it when the coils actually go bad enough to make a difference at idle and pull a light. I think they do start to run rough as they break down but it takes the cracking to get severe before the cel comes on. I pulled the codes on mine before I changed them and it only showed a missfire at number 4 but when I pulled out the coils, they were ALL cracked. Incidently, number 4 was in the worse condition. I would just go ahead and change them along with the plugs with the most recent parts available. My new coils ended in 08 in the part number.
