i've ordered 911's before, but i still do not go crazy on options... I order what i need and not what i "want" because at the end of the day i'd rather have that extra 15-25k in my pocket versus in options on someone else's car when i sell.

options are fun but my 112k sticker 911 i had sold for about 2k more than the same year/model with a 85k sticker did... for that reason needs over wants,

the day i spend 3k on painted air slats and 5k on painted exterior plastic, 4k on deviated stitch is the day that i'm on "Charlie Sheen"..

Don't forget to make sure you have a purse that matches.

When did you order this 2012 cayenne? I see you posted in another thread that you started that your suggested build date is 8/22/11. I ordered mine on 7/2/11 and my suggested build date is 10/12/11?! Could you possibly explain why mine is a 2 month longer wait than yours? Also, doesnt the Porsche factory stop production in August for their "holiday"?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated from anyone!

automatic only, stick sounds fun but risky bet imo... there was 2 6speed cayenne's on autotrader last i checked and one was REALLY cheap.

the dealer i deal with treats me VERY well, got around 8% off last one and close to that on this one.

i placed order 7/6/11, and the scheduled build date is 8/22, they had the slot available to got placed there.. all dealers have different allocation and build dates available... im not sure about vacation but know they take a month at end of year which screwed me last year.. i've learned the dates dont mean anything as they always change.

i wouldn't even get close to a shucks until the cards play out.. my last vehicle was bumped a few times in the build process... maybe your dealer just gave you a further out date to help with anxiety.. and if it came sooner than your a happier customer.

id rather be under promised and get it sooner, than be over promised and be let down.

I think Riley is the forum's first confirmed case of P!g OCD ...

Next up will be the "where is the boat", "where is my Cayenne" threads, just like the last time he was waiting for his beloved P!g ... that he kept how long?

Still, it is entertaining ...

Riley- did you notice the Cayenne is now available in both White & Sand White? I'm interested in seeing how different they look next to each other. However, doubt I'll see one the lots of my local dealer any time soon.

wow, i just noticed this... i need to make a call tomorrow! white is such a better color!. Thank you SLwong

i wonder as well how it will compare, but to be honest the sand white in person isn't very "off white" at all.. curious how "white' will compare to "Carrera White"

No worries. I agree that Sand White isn't really off white in person, but I do think a pure White would be nicer.
