Default XM Radio "Hissing"

I recently purchased a 2011 Cayenne S and I'm loving it, big time! It has the base radio with navigation (PCM 3.1) and XM radio. I noticed when I lose the satellite signal for XM that that speakers make a 'hissing' sound for a few seconds prior to going to a dead air sound. With previous cars I had, the XM signal just cuts off to dead air. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not sure if this is normal for the Porsche PCM 3.1 system or not. Thank you!

Has the dealer verified that all SW updates have been performed?

I think they did when I took delivery of the vehicle two weeks ago. It's worth asking, regardless. Thanks for the response.

If everything is up to date, it may in fact be typical.

I tested a few German OEM sat equipped cars that did the same thing, very different from the HD behavior.

It is definitely not the amplifier

Is there any way for me to tell if the software is up to date? Release / Rev code?
