few questions before i write the check
Hello all,
new here and this is my first post. ready to buy a one owner 2006 blk/clk C basic 6 engine. has been dealer maintained but in Costa rica where i live. first question is down here it is not uncommon to sell a 05 as 06 model. what should the build date be to be certain its a 06 model?
what problems can be expensive to deal with and are more common. here we have very poor roads, the tires are new, the oil changes done 10K kms intervals car has 44K kms (about 27,000 miles). I read a lot of posts about plastic coolant pipes but seems to apply to the V8?
i have owned 5 prior porsches but all in US (911s, 928, 993, 996) and always relied on dealer, not good with tools. I now have an 06 audi A4 T quattro US model. But need a larger car for dogs and beach trips.
Car has CD changer and NAV as only options, i think, but owner wants 35K. need to know that import duty here is 52 % so that is like paying 23K in US.
thank you for you time and suggestions for any input.

You should be able to use a VIN decoder like the one found on renntech.org or at Suncoast parts to determine the proper year. As for build date, I believe that Porsche switches over in late May or early June. My 2004 CS has a build date of May 2004, and I believe it was one of the later ones before the switch over to the 2005 models.

Burning Brakes
oil, tires, typical consumables will go fast and be expensive but its a decent pretty suv..... id say stick with below 20inches on wheel size...... premium gas is a must for decent running of v6...how easy is it to get affordable premium gas there?
cardan shaft replacement should be done between 35-65k....historical failures noted......
