Default Seat belt buckle sticking

Has anyone here replaced the seat belt buckle for the driver's seat? I see a lot of discussions on the rear belt, but don't know if there's a thread on the front. What I want to know is: How do I remove it? Where is the best non-dealer place to buy this replacement part?

Is there any possibility of this item still being covered under warranty for a '06 vehicle? Sometimes due to government regulations these safety items have a longer warranty. Just checking (and hoping...).

I had the passenger-side seat belt receptacle replaced under warranty. The plastic ABS housing came apart (two halves) and practically sliced my wife's hand when she tried to buckle her belt. Oddly enough, the dealer keeps these parts in stock. ;-)
