Default 10,000 Mile Report -- 2011 CS

It's all good.

No issues worth mentioning.

Barely consuming any oil (after an initial thirsty start for the first few thousand miles). (Did first oil change at 9,000 miles).

Loving and appreciating what an amazing vehicle this is. Better than my 2006 in pretty much every way.

May I suggest removing that crying smiley in your sig, then?

P.S. I'm glad all is well with your CS.

Rome, thanks for the update. What issues are you having that aren't worth mentioning?

Nice one Craig . Romy, good to know that everything is going well with your 2011 (may be you should delete that emoticon next to your sold '06 Cayenne since you mentioned that the replacment is better in everyway). Whatever happened to your steering wheel vibration ?

1. Initial problems with oil consumption-- Resolved. After break-in period consumption has been minimal.

2. Steering Wheel vibration-- Has become far less noticeable (or perhaps I've gotten used to it). Doesn;t seem to be an issue.

3. A few initial small cosmetic issues-- Dealer resolved.

4. Slight imperfection in leather on dash-- No one seems to notice it but picky old me.

5. Squeaks and Rattles from under the center console and the rear trunk-- Dealer identified "center console rattle" as actually coming from overhead light and resolved it. Trunk rattle fixed by dealer. (Still some slight very noise from time to time, but essentially the same as my '06).

6. Rear shade/divider is basically impossible to put back into place once you remove it (unless you are a contortionist. I gave up and it's now just sitting in the garage.

7. One two occasionsm, after ideling for about 20-30 mins, I noticed a slight "knocking sound" from the engine similar to the sound you'd hear with low octane fuel. I'm not sure why this is. I heard it only once each time after pulling away after the very long idle. I have not investigated it, but performance was not affected so I'm not worried about it at this point. (If anyone has aslo experienced this I'd be interested to hear about it).

All pretty small stuff.

The things I really love are:

1. Endless power and torque of the V-8.

2. Full Leather, gorgeous stitching, plus the embossed headrests from the exclusive programme. The combination of these make the interior downright sumptious and make me feel a little spoiled.

3. Voice command-- Don't leave out this option if you are ordering. It is such a convenience and pleasure to use. You can control almost all the PCM functions by voice command.

4. The PCM, NAV and USB port are VERY well designed and integrated. Love the set up

5. Panoroof!

6. Sport Mode (double !!)

I didn't order PASM or Torque Vectoring, but I don;t miss those options. This truck carves like a MF'er.
