If I have an 04 CTT and have purchased the updated (05+) valve body for my car (part number is 955 325 039 00 ) does anyone know what part number TCM I need to get to work with the new valve body? Do these need to be coded or programmed or you can just plug it straight in?

Trying to find information on this seems to be basically impossible, so if anyone has answers I'd really appreciate it.

I gave my vin to a Porsche parts place and they sent the VB for my early 2004 955tt - it was physically different, but went right in and worked without any other changes.

They sent me part # 955-325-039-00 for reference, but be sure to give your VIN to the parts dealer so they can verify current part you need.

Thanks for the reply.

That's brilliant to hear, and is very reassuring. I got the part number from Porsche as well and the valve body I got is exactly that, so hopefully it will go straight in and work without any additional requirements.

Tassie, just curious, how did the tranny valve body install go? All OK?

All working fine after the new valve body went in, no need for a new TCU!

Car drvies pretty much flawlessly now, very happy with the result. Occasionally there is a slight harsh shift from 3rd to 4th but it's not bad at all and isn't really much to speak of. The car has 314,000km on it so I suspect this is just an age/wear related thing.

Two questions: what would I expect to pay at the dealer, and how difficult is it to do myself? I don't yet have a repair manual set (truck is new to me) but I can spin wrenches well...

2005 Turbo.
My problem was the bolts attaching the transmission pan to the transmission body were so rusted the Indy was too nervous to attempt — it would likely result in snapping bolts and then trying to drill out free hand. Good luck.
