Default What are the steel springs on GTS

Dumb question-
I understand my 09 GTS has steel springs. I assume these are coil springs as opposed to ? on the non GTS models...Thanks

Bump. I might not have asked the question correctly, so bear with me. The specs on the GTS make a point of the steel suspension vs the non GTS. So what does that mean?..Thanks fo the help

I would think Air vs Steel.

My understanding is that the GTS came standard with Air Suspension, not the regular coil steel springs that are standard on other Cayenne models (except the Turbo which also has Air Suspension standard for 2011 at least). When you say your '09 GTS has steel springs I think that's incorrect. Don't you have adjustable ride height on your car? That's only possible with AS.

GTS (at least in EU) came standard with steel springs that were an inch lower than regular, PASM and manual tranny. PASM + steel springs was available only on the GTS.

air suspension was an option.

Yes I have the adjustable air setup. But they also site the steel suspension/coils as somthing special. I guess it is special because nobody know what it is...Thanks...

I looked up the spec on the '09 GTS and air suspension was shown as standard. Sounds like that was incorrect at least for the EU. Anyone have a definitive answer for US spec cars?

The GTS in EU came with the steel coil suspension, with the air-springs being an option. In the USA, the air suspension was standard. A lot of the press releases waxed-on about how cool it was to have PASM with a steel suspension, so this might be what you are reading; but it had no pertinence for us Yanks. This is off memory.....
