Default cayenne gts HELP.

i am new to this site and not sure if this is even the appropriate place to be putting this but here goes:

does anyone know if it is possible to take an 08 cayenne gts and put an updated radio/navigation/ touch screen system into it replacing the older system? and if it is possible does anyone know about how much ballpark idea it would cost?

i am looking to buy an 08 but have become extremely comfortable with my current 09 system. if anyone can be of any help it would really be great.
thank you.

My understanding is that the Cayenne wiring harnesses are VIN-specific. This means that retrofitting a NAV system with hard-drive module, antenna, etc... is not an easy task and will cost much $$$

In addition, your '09 has the new PCM 3.0 system which is far more advanced than the earlier PCM 2.1 in the '08 and utilizes touch-screen technology. There's always the option of purchasing an aftermarket head unit that can do almost everything that the factory unit does.

Could you do the reverse though - upgrade from a 2.1 system to a 3.0 system, keeping the exiting wiring, antennas, etc.?

Good question. A quick search of the current available TSB's shows no such product although that doesn't necessarily mean that it cannot be done.

In Sept. 2007, PAG introduced a TSB (09/07 ENU 9110 9) on the installation of the older PCM 2.1 system (incl.navigation module) for all 2008 M.Y. Cayenne & Cayenne S models equipped with CDR23 factory radios. I'd be very curious to know what the parts alone would cost for this kit.
