Default Pre Purchase inspection-Porsche or Indy Shop?

Hey guys,

What kind of pre inspection should i get this morning?

Also should i take it to a Porsche dealer?or a indy shop?

Is a compression test needed?

Thanks

What are you buying? I would take a Cayenne to a dealer to make sure all the service bulletins and recall items have been incorporated during prior service history. From my perspective, whether a compression test is needed depends on the mileage and age. On a newer low mileage car, I wouldn't bother.

The dealership I am purchasing from do not have any maintenance records.

Have they shared their inspection findings with you? Can the car be CPO'd with an extended warranty by them? See what they can print out for you from their maintenance records database for the VIN number. My sense is that you should be able to see warranty and TSB related stuff. If it can't be CPO'd, I'd take it somewhere else for a PPI.

I think the key with a PPI, either at a dealership or an indy, is to remember that you are paying for it, and the they are working for you - not the current owner.

That is true, when I got the PPI done on my GTS for the prospective buyer, the dealer would not even show me the report; but said it went through fine
