Wink My Fellow 2011'ers with Black Trim Package *

if you have your vehicle already, you will know about the "loophole".

"Side window frames and trim moulding on rear bumper in black. NOTE: Trim moulding on rear bumper in black only in conjunction with Black and Jet Black Metallic exterior colours"

unless you order a Black or Jet Black Metallic vehicle the trim on the trunk remains "chrome silver" which bothers me.... might bother others as well.

i went to a local dealer and he brought up the part and told me it was $150... called my dealer i bought the Cayenne from and it's actually only $58.85 ($47.08 after 20% off)

Part number 958-512-955-01-041 matches up to the BLACK outer lid trim for option QJ4 (Aluminium Package, Black). Item #40 in the attached illustration.

Riley - you crack me up. Seriously, that car needs to meet it's owner soon!

PS - I really like the black outer trim option.

edit, i see they call the trim "galvano silver" now instead of chrome silver?

i wish they still had interior trim in volcano grey :-(

here is the "black out" package with the silver trunk piece: https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...e-met-ctt.html

LOL, i just have too much time on my hands... i bought my plane ticket for the 15th seeing that the boat docked the 1st and left the 3rd... would hope it would make its way to dealer before the freaking 15th... usually not as impatient, but when you plan trips around the arrival and gotta keep bumping em it gets frustrating.

That chome piece looks out of place on the blue, but I'm not sure that black will look much better.

I can confirm that Jet Black indeed comes with a black trim strip if you order the blackout package.

Thanks for the information. My Umber with blackout package could probably use it, but I will wait to see how it looks before replacing it. I have recorded the part number in case.

i thought it might look out of place as well, i'm going to take before and after pics and post in here once i get the vehicle... the "galvano silver" doesn't really match anything however besides the interior trim.. the black would at least match the windows/side trim with cars with blacked out side trim.

I had to use Satin Black Vinyl on my '10 GTS to cover that same(ish) piece. Hated the only piece of silver on there!

Riley- I think the silver will look better than black on the meteor grey.. Just my opinion. I get what you're saying about the silver, but I think black may pop even more. Interested in seeing your pics. I really don't like the silver around the windows unless the aluminum roof racks are there to balance it out. It just doesn't bother me as much on the rear.

As you know, I have silver. The chrome on the back doesn't quite match, but for some reason doesn't bother me as much as the window trim.

Good idea. I might just try that. The satin chrome trim plate really looks out of place on our rear bumper.

Thanks.

I never noticed this silver strip on the car before.

I have ordered mine in Silver (with the Black package) so hopefully it will not look out of place - when it arrives.

Blaine, can you post ANY other pics of your car? There are not that many photo's of silver Cayenne's about.

Thanks for the info Riley :-)
