I love this ebay posting. Car was recently tuned up but airbag light is on and a vent line needs to be replaced for $2000:

Would you think that if during the tune up you would of replaced this stuff? Goes to show you so many of these cars are taken straight from auction to sale without addressing known issues.

I think it's pretty common for auction cars to be sold "as is", even on dealer lots.

We've been looking at picking up a used Audi A4 or A6 for my son. I looked at several over the weekend, and I was shocked at the condition of these cars, even on dealer lots. One wouldn't start. Once had a CEL and ran poorly. You'd think a dealer would check these things out...

You would think that if this was your line of work you would want to check out the cars and fix things before going out on the lot. Also hard to get good money for the car when it obviously needs a good amount of work.

Many people don't do PPI and assume if they bought from a dealer that they check out the car before selling it. I looked at an X5 4.8is about a month ago as I was very interested in one of these before driving the Porsche and it obviously needed tires and brakes and the salesman said the tires where find no need to replace and same with brakes as their mechanic looked it over and said everything was fine. I then asked if there was some sort or warranty and he said no. I asked why if everything is fine give someone 90 days?

Anyways someone traded it in on a new Buick and it obviously went straight to the used car lot. Let some other sucker buy it!!!

It sounds like a fair deal, though. $16k is the current bid and it's above any reserve. The miles aren't too bad, blue is a pretty rare color and it seems to have pretty much every other option.

My brother is a wizard mechanic, and what he can't do he knows folks who can. He's been looking for a Cayenne to replace the Trailblazer that badly crapped itself. I'm going to toss this to him.
