Do you know if the Cayenne's windscreen is considered a structural element as is the case with most unibody vehicles?
I got hit last week by a nasty stone and before the starburst gets bigger, I booked an appointment with the glass specialist to get the windscreen injected with that ''magic'' liquid glass.

FWIW, I am having my 2011 Cayennne windshield replaced this coming week at the dealer w/ OEM glass and they contract out to safelite. My deductible is $500 and the total replacement cost will be less than that, so no claim.

Called the Porsche dealer and went with their recommended guy, with the OEM glass they ordered. And it was actually cheaper - just over $400 installed. There is apparently one guy in all of Sacramento that does most of the Cayennes, and he's actually very good. Spent almost 3 hours on it. So the dealer out here did a good job of finding an expert.

Niello referred us out to Hayes Brothers Auto Body in downtown Sacramento. They are roughly at 20th and W, give or take a few blocks. Really great job the installer did - and I forget his name. But the shop will certainly know.
As fate would have it, I have a new rock chip in mine now...

Insurance regs must vary by state. With typical collision & comprehensive coverage, windshield replacement is covered here - with no deductible at all.
Regarding price and installation; my servicing dealership has their own onsite body shop. I recently pointed out a chip in my windshield and got an estimate on the spot; $858 for the heated glass, about $360 for seals (and probably labor).
