Thanks to a few on the forum I understand the wiring in my 06 S enough to retrofit the e-bay sourced inside dimming mirror from a now departed 04.

Unfortunately, the parts supplier no longer had the 04 wreck to cut me out a section of the wire harness so I would have the correct connector to plug into the mirror.

I went to get a connector except the two parts guys at the dealer were less than helpful -- they really had no idea how to even look it up

Does anyone know how to look up this kind of part? What do they do at a dealership when something gets damaged? I guess tell you to forget it and buy a 2011.

Having to destroy the mirrors connector and wire it directly is something I would rather not do -- it will be much easier to make the new harness -- install it and then plug the mirror in.
