OK, My Brake sensor light just came on, rotors look good but I have not measured them. Pads are pretty much done on the rear and about 4mm on the front.

Do you guys usually do the rotors as well? Front pads and rotors were done 22K miles ago.

Got my last round of 996 brakes/Sensors & rotors from Suncoast, best price for Cayenne?

I had new everything put on at 15k, then again at 65k, then just said forget it too expensive, pads only.

I just rolled 100k and did a 2nd set of pads all the way around. I think that next time I need to do rotors.

I would say every 3rd set of pads, add new rotors.

I found that Suncoast or sunset are the most consistent in price and strong delivery.

I am not an ebayer type but if you know how to work it, go for it.

Always replace the hardware too.

I just did my front pads two days ago. Used Porsche pads purchased with a20% off coupon. Took 5-10 minutes per side once the wheel was off. I chose not to replace the rotors even though they're at 32.1mm. I think 32 is the minimum.

I bled 2 Liters throught the brakes while I was doing the work. Pedal feels better now. Pretty easy too using the Motive pressure bleeder.

My brake pad warning light was on too and had been for about two weeks. Be advised that the light comes on with about 2-3mm of pad remaining. Which is about 30% pad life remaining. Pretty conservative if you ask me, especially considering the price of pads these days.

OEM....for me.....hawk ceramics from the other guys who like dustless pads and dont mind screeching.

Order 1 set front rotors and pads, hardware and sensors(4).
Then 1 set of rear rotors and pads, hardware for each wheel(4).

OEM really is the best option.... Even while the rears are the same as our cars.... you could run the 2406's from Pagid instead.

I looked and apparently the stock pads on my Cayenne are Pagids so i suppose i will get those.

Also my Calipers have number 17zr on them does that mean i have 330mm rotors??? And are the rear rotors also 330mm??

When I did my first brake job at about 40K miles, I did the pads only. I measured the rotors and they were within spec. I'll replace them on the next brake job.

I bought OEM pads from Suncoast. I thought the price was fair. FWIW, my OEM pads were Brembo.

The OEM Pads are Brembo sourced... In the Pagid shape the fronts are the 2845's & Rears are the 2406's.

That's what I did too. I think your dealer will tell you that you need replace the rotors at the same time.

I replaced the fronts at 40k w/parts from Sunset -- pads/rotors/sensors/ all the hardware and bolts - including shipping -- just over $500.00.

What I did notice after I pulled the brakes is that the sensors go off with a lot of pad material left. I could have easily driven the car another 5k (6 months for me) before they needed to be replaced. My rotors had a very small lip.

I had no issues with the stock setup and I felt that by replacing the rotors I will have the best chance to get another 40-45K.
