Search the forum and learn about:

Coolant pipes
Cardan shaft
Coil packs and spark plugs
Brake and tire life

Then put $5000 in small unmarked non sequential bills in the freezer, next to the bacon.
Place your therapists number on speed dial.
Update your health proxy status to "Do Not Resuscitate"

I might be worth paying an hour or so for labor at a local Porsche dealer for a PIWIS readout and visual inspection...sort of a mini PPI.

yeah, I've read all of that, and it's all very interesting and I get it having owned a P-Car used before. I was kinda hoping there was something along the lines of a "what to look for and what to NOT look for year by year" guide. By searching, there doesn't seem to be that. Of course, I'm happy to wait for the genius posting "search you idiot" to provide me that link, since I'm a complete forum newb who hasn't the capacity to handle that little chore.

right, so, again, you have nothing, are nothing more than a blustering bother, and have nothing to contribute. Yeah, you're pretty much dismissed.

So, I also find myself looking at Cayennes....in the first gen range. I came on here as this board was an outstanding help with my 928...however, I cannot search a buyers guide, what to look for, etc, for this particular porsche. I find a thread stared by Don Nguyen, whom I coincidentally know from the BMW world asking the same thing and getting a bunch of pithy responses. Then another that I'm posting in referring to the first which gives zero information of any kind other than "buy the newest you can afford", which is frankly just fantastic if I'm talking to a 12 year old. Now, is there, on this board, with all the knowledge that I've come to expect from the people here, a buying guide for first gen Cayenne's? Or, instead, am I going to get some BS re-directs back to no info?
Have you at least read through the FAQ yet?????

Yes, I have a link:
