Default How long does it take?!?!?!

Hello all. My name is Jason, I live in the DC area. I am new to this forum and to Porsche. I ordered my first porsche in mid October . and recently attended the two day performance course at Barber (awesome!!!) I ordered a 2011 Cayenne Turbo. The build was complete as of 28 Nov and JUST received notice that it was "on vessel". Any idea how long it takes to float from Germany to the US? Thanks in advance!

Signed.... Overly anxious.

Ask your dealer for the delivery date.

The normal quote is 4-6 weeks. I'd be surprised if your car has been sitting around for a month since Nov 28. More likely that your receipt of the notice is a couple of weeks behind when the vehicle actually got loaded. Since you're on the east coast, you're probably closer to the 4 months, so you could see it in 2-3 weeks if you're lucky!

My guess is that it's close or may have already arrived at the port. My build was completed on 11/30 and placed on a vessel by 12/9, they could have been shipmates! I believe the vessel my order is on stopped in Brunswick and is now on it's way to Houston, then to San Diego, which is my stop.

Ask your dealer for the vessel name. You can track it's progress by typing the name of the vessel in the search box on the following site: http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/

Ordered my 2011 Cayenne S in late July, picked it up Wednesday. From "On Vessel" to actual delivery took about two weeks. For me, getting the option set I wanted was worth the wait. So far really enjoying the car. Cool cockpit and technology. Power in the S is amazing - power in the Turbo, Oh My!

Prepare to have much fun!
