they have new style coming out next year that will use the 11' cayenne chassis i hear.. but honestly i wouldnt.. the base toureg is like 6k cheaper than the base cayenne.. the 6k difference gets you like 50k more car. imo.

Yes, since the TDI engine is an option.

New T-reg very similiar to Cayenne - same basic chasis. New car has just been released. TDI fully optioned ("Executive version") is just below $60K. VW kept off some of the additional options like air suspension, and off-road stuff that you can get on the Porsche to keep the costs down.

Like the diesel option, don't like the look. Knowing my luck, I'm sure that Porsche will announce the diesel for 2012 the day after I take delivery of my 2011 V-6.
