Default Replacement Key

I've searched for a bit but counldn't find a thread...

What is best place / way to obtain a replace key. I'm assuming I'll be shocked by the amount a dealer wants for the key.

Well, via trial an error, sending back 2 on ebay for a refund (wouldnt code), finally getting one from ebay that would code.

Then getting what looked like a real and not a knock of blank (my understanding, they are only sold to auto manufactures, so hard to find) I got a Valeo HAA blank (Not steel as those are fakes) and fob for $100 total.

Then cost me $30 to cut it (again, pain to find someone to cut it, have heard VW dealers will but mine wouldn't out of fear of ruining their bit) and I have a good relationship with my dealer, so they coded for free.

So a $130 plus hours and hours of my time.

I think straight from Porsche with coding at a dealer is around $350-$400?

There is a guy in Sarasota that has one for sale for $35 on craigslist. The key was not for pass key so I had to pass. Check it out, you will need to get a new blank and have it coded.
