New SharkWerks Exhaust Product for 2011 Cayenne Twin Turbo
This black on black 2011 Cayenne Twin Turbo was one of the first cars to be delivered to Northern California and was utilized to develop the SharkWerks Secondary Cat Bypass Exhaust. SharkWerks friend & customer Fred Courtot always has the latest/greatest Cayenne in his stable so he brought it straight over to get some more sound/performance.
To start things off we tackled the exhaust side of things. As with all previous Cayenne Turbos the secondary catalysts not only quieten that V8 Twin Turbo rumble but they do indeed rob some power. The 2011 model with the new DFI motor is even quieter inside and out than previous generation Cayenne TT's.
Once on the lift and with the belly-pan removed you can see the secondary catalysts:
A few simple tools required for the job (a good DIY):
They are quite easy to remove (plan on about an hour or so):
A close up view of just how dense the cats are! Getting rid of these "plugs" will certainly reduce back-pressure on the exhaust side and help the turbos spool-up faster:
There were a few too many bends on the stock units but quite a bit of room underneath so James made sure to straighten out the flow of our units:
The cats not only looked quite dense but seemed somewhat heavy so we figured we'd weigh them:
And ours (about 9.5 pounds lighter):
Installation is made easy and we made sure to include factory-style hangers for proper fitment:
The only "tough" nut to get to is made somewhat easier using a 13mm crescent-style wrench:
For those of you that want an even louder sound you can also install an aftermarket exhaust just the same as you would with a factory set up but utilizing our bypass pipes:
A demo/test showing a few facets of driving the car now with our bypasses installed:

And now ready to go back home to our chum Fred- as always thanks for being part of the development!
She'll be back soon for some EVOMSit Tuning and then some!
