I have a cool Carrera and a S from a 2005.

I have a December build on a Cayenne S - may remove them when it arrives.
The value is reduced by about $ 30.00 = cost of putting new badges on.
Removing the badge yorself is the simple part. Explaining to a Concours judge the reason why the 'delete code' is missing from your build sheet is another. If you 'have a life' and don't intend on entering full-fledged Concours event in the future, there is absoltutely nothing to worry about.

Years back, the body panels actually had holes punched for the badges to be mounted on so a 'factory delete' had a whole new meaning.

Out of the two changes I intened to make, the "Model Designation Delete" was the more minor one. IMHO the back ends of the Cayenne and Panamera look a little "tarted up" with all the chrome writing. Little busy looking in the rear end like Porsche is trying to draw much attention to the nameplate. Although things are getting a little better for some, still seems like we're in a pretty deep recession. Gordon Gekko probably likes the busy chrome stuff.

When the car comes in, if the dealer is reluctant to remove the model identification it is easy to do. Put the rear of the truck in the sun for several hours then use dental floss or waxed thread and you can peal the id right off. A little mineral spirits to clean the sticky residue and then wax. No scratches and job done. I do it to my cars so I have the identification letters to put on my tool boxes.

Also be happy Cayenne build allocations are getting hard to come by. My dealer who normally does not have a problem is searching for one for me. Production on Cayennes and Caymans has been cut somewhat

I'm told there is a 10 week delay on those cars ordered with aluminum roof rails... If yours has that, maybe there is more time/flexibility to get your order corrected to your liking.

Please do note that the PORSCHE lettering is more centered in the model designation delete vehicles.
