Default Automatic Headlights Sensor

My headlights do not seem to go off in the sunlight. Does anyone have a similar issue and where is the light sensor?

Thanks!

Dumb question of the day but somebody's got to ask it...

Is it possible that your DRL's (Daylight running lights) have been activated inadvertently thru the setup menu?

yeah, my '04 lights are on all the time with the switch in auto. There isn't a choice for DRL's in the menu. I think it may need to have the DRL's shut off using PWIS. Anyone???

I had my DRL turned on -- the dealer does it. Same as the headlights being on except no high beams available and the lights on the dash are off.

They should be just the high beams at reduced intensity.

No not a dumb question, but a Canadian question DRL is not activated and the automatic setting does work sometimes in the auto mode, but lately it just stays on. I am thinking the light sensor must be dirty. Anyone know where it is?

It is on the back of the rear-view mirror on the driver side!

Did you solve it ? After washing my Cayenne yesterday my headlights were always on on Auto mode. One day after and is working normally again. Maybe it has something to do with water
