Default Aftermarket Bluetooth/music options

First, I did my homework and searched this forum. The Mobridge posts on this topic is nearly 2 years old and much has changed since then.

I have an '08 Cayenne that I haven't driven much since new. I'm now putting it in service and want handsfree/wireless music sync. Is it possible to retain the function of the factory CD changer and have phone contacts/playlist show in the nav display?

I have a Parrot (with its own display) in another car but won't subject the Cayenne to Best Buy installers. I would like to hear from other owners what systems they are using and if they have any recommendations on professional installers in the suburban Philadelphia area.

Your advice/experience is appreciated.

I am physically between the 2 of you, in my opinion the Mobridge is still the best solution out there if you need to keep the factory set up. There is a place just north of the turnpike on 611 that has a good reputation. But I have had good experience at Bob and Rons in Montgomeryville on 309.

The big issue is still the MOST links to all the systems, unfortuanately the CDC is a loss in all this since the network only allows for 1 in circuit at a time (dont believe any thing else, some say you can but it causes all sorts of problems)

If you want to take a shot and do it yourself I would be happy to help since your local.

I may be going with the m0bridge also and will be self installing. Since I am local also we could try an assembly line approach with a beer station

Good to hear from some local folks. It sounds as though Mobridge is still the way to go. I'd be up for for playing with tools and drinking beer. I'll probably start shopping on-line for a unit this weekend.

I'm interested to hear how the installations work out. I'm looking to purchase the mObridge Bluetooth ABT2010 in the next couple of months. I could care less about losing the CDC. If I have my iPhone integrated I won't even store any CDs in the Cayenne.

Both the Dension and mOBridge have been discussed on RL many times.
The infotainment system is 95% common between the P!g and the Carrera/Boxsters, so search those forums for details.

Also, Eric at Bumperplugs and mOBridge are RL members/sponsors and can answer any questions via PM or email.

Happy to answer any questions on the Dension product line. Just email me and I can forward some more current info.

eric@bumperplugs.com

We have access to all 3 products for iPod/Bluetooth integration (Dension, mObridge and NavTV). We have found over the many years we have had our relationship with the Dension corporate folks (engineering) that they put out a very good product, are primarily an R&D company, and don't just relabel other's technology. They respond quickly to our questions on behalf of our customers, allow retention of the cd changer if equipped, have easily updatable technology (via USB/firmware), and offer a substantial amount of feature rich integration for the money.

Fully featured, self installable, detailed instructions (ours, not theirs), and the thing just does what it says it will do. Nothing against the others.....

Both Dension and mObridge are top quality products, you won't go wrong either way.

Recently purchased a Dension from Eric, works great, no complaints. CD changer works with it and the AUX feature worked really well for my Satellite radio. Install was easy enough and Eric is always a pleasure to deal with.

I had mobridge installed (at the Porsche dealer in Flemington, NJ) and it works great. I did lose the CDC and there is a little microphone dongle hanging from the ceiling by the rear view mirror. All else is seamless - they ran the aux and ipod connectors through the glovebox. I have the ipod in the glovebox and the aux attached to satellite that sits right in front of the shifter.

I do not know about wireless music sync.

Same here. Eric's a great guy! My Dension works with my CD changer. And Dension is a lot less expensive than the mobridge.
