Default MPG display?

All - I've searched for an hour or so, and can't find any reference as to how to use the display between the speedometer and Tack. Before search, I sat in the car and red the manual. Still nothing. Most options in the manual don't see to be in our car. Its an '06 S Titanium. Not sure if it has all the options like tire pressure, but I can't even get the most basic mpg to show up in the display. The only item that shows up as available is miles to empty. There MUST be a setting that I'm missing right?

Help!

Thx.

My 06 S listed for around 70k. I was shocked after I drove it that it had no dimming mirrors and no compass -- proper interior lights were an option!

Anyway - The base display gives you the average MPG and the miles to empty. Both worthless. Its a complete waste of a good display IMO. You more than likely have the basic system.

They spend the money to give you a climate control that turns off the vents when the wiper washers go off --But no compass on a 70k truck that you are going to go off road!

The tire pressure monitors can be a pain!

If you have PCM there is a trip comp that shows MPG for whatever it's worth

I do have a PCM, and can see mpg there. I'm just shocked that I can't see it in the info display on the dash.

I do know how to use the toggle, but there are only 2 options; average speed, and miles to empty. Only two choices? Really Porsche?

aaron, I know what you mean. You have to press this and then toggle down and press again and toggle some more to get to MPG.

My wife bought a 09 Cayenne S all on her own. Why she picked this SUV I will never understand. Our 2000 and 2005 BMW X5 was way better and the Ford or GMC SUV's I get to rent regularly do a much better job with dash info.

Been HUGE into 4wheelin for 30 years and have never ever used or needed a compass for the task. Just stay on the trail.

Changing a blown tire is a bigger pain than the tpms.

All are different -- I find a compass useful .... old scout in me I guess.

Every car I have owned with tire pressure monitors has been a pain with false alarms so I skip them if I can.

OH -- what are trails ?

I was a socut too. There is just no actual need for a compass while wheeling unless you are trying to circle the globe without touching a road.

Checked my my fairly new tires at a gas station in Las Vegas New Mexico. Before the tank of gas was out I had a tire blow at 80 mph. Low profile tires on a windy road are Really hard to feel going low. Tpms can be a pain, but it can save you too

This is the kind of irresponsible use of land that is getting our parks, trail systems and open space closed to public use. This is a HUGE deal to those of us involved in the land use battle. Obviously not a real four wheeler making comments like this.
