metal trim tarnish: cure
I had very bad tarnishing of my metal trim on my 2005 cayenne turbo. I have found something that works very well at cleaning off tarnish and keeping it looking good..
Collinite's no. 850 Metal Wax for marine and aeronautical use. rub it on, it takes off tarnish and protects for extended time.

actually , i was about to try the aluminum polish today. Given that the oxidation is appearing on the aluminum, it tells me that the trim pieces are not protected from outside elements via clear. Ill keep you posted how did that go. On the side note, what do you guys use to clean the sapphire dashboard gauges window?

Aluminum polish will work for about 2 days. This stuff has metal polish and wax. Made for plane and boats. Seems to work for extended period of time.

I use Meguiar's Interior Leather wipes for the satin aluminum finish inside the cockpit (handle pulls, door/dash trim, etc...). The silicone formula coats the aluminum and prevents those dreaded fingerprints from appearing. It also reduces fine scratches and scuff marks.

This is more for the corrosion and milky looking appearance on the aluminum trim on the outside of the cayennes. It is a common problem and known problem. I have tried everything, including trying to get P to replace the molding. This stuff actually works and keep the corrosion off for an extended time.
