04 Key Fob Drives me Nuts...
Searched a bit but didn't find anything spot on topic so... apologies if this is a re-write of history.
The single lock/unlock button on my 04 fob is insane. With 3 possibilities and varying degrees of sensativitey it's almost impossible to tell if I'm locked in or locked out.
Do they now (hopefully) come out with a seperate lock - unlock button? Can one upgrade if so (double hopefully)?

But look on the bright side, at least your remote has more range than some of the earlier ones, which was about 6" away from the vehicle, although it was more like 12" if you stood on one leg and were wearing polyester with the relative humidity above 57% and the winds out of the east at between 2-7 mph.
Of course if it rained, you weren't getting into your car, especially since the antennae under the rear spoiler cover would have already been underwater...
But, you weren't really locked out of your car, since if you waited long enough, eventually the rear window microswitch would fail and open the rear glass all on its own.
So, I'm sorry, what exactly was your complaint?

Dear Sir,
I do not believe this can be correct, as the classical technique demonstrated in post # 1 of this thread CLEARLY does not work with the P!g key fob .... and I have done extensive testing to date....

Well sir I really do doubt your lack of empirical data, remember range = depth / temperature in some strange proportions I cannot remember anymore due to age and senility

Well obviously this is a trap since you above all people know I can not post empirical data (i.e. pictures) of the extensive research and geometrical variations which were explored....it is against RL policy.
Now, on a slightly more serious note, perhaps the OP still has the antenna coiled up under the rear spoiler cover and not uncoiled and run lengthwise; this would lead to a range issue and could result in multiple key presses to get a single (or unrepeatable) response?
Never mind....

Quick question....
How many Moderators can you fit into the P!g Pen?
Better get Bob to round up the rest of the gang and we'll find out.
BTW, the record is 15...here is the group photo

OK...
Set all doors to unlock - Check
Check relative humidity - What's Humidity? (Planet Utah remember)
Tape Coat Hanger to Fob - Check (done having kids anyway)
Uncoil "Pigtail" from under Spoiler Thingy - Check
Are new ones this way?
