Wink Touareg Diesel - Best tow vehicle for me...

Just gushing after review of a few pictures I took while driving cross country "Coast2Coast" a few weeks back with the "T-Rex" and my "Airstream" - and it made me realize that for my purposes (towing a 25FB Airstream Limited Classic through mountains, valleys, open expanses while in comfort and with great gas mileage and power/breaking/handling) that there is currently no other tow vehicle than my "T-Rex" that I would want...

And the answer is "YES" - the Diesel far out performs my V-8 that was in my Cayenne S for towing purposes and fuel mileage....

Would have purchased another Cayenne if they offered it in Diesel here in the states - best though that I didn't as the "VW" emblem is a bit less "flashy" when in the RV sites....

Monster fan of the Blu-Tec VW/Audi engines - hopefully the new Ford diesel and soon chevy Blu-Tec's will be as nice....

The Cummins in the Dodge is a Blu-Tec winner already - just not a fan of Dodge RAM trucks...

Nice pic. Touareg TDIs and Airstreams are a great combination.

I love it when I pull into a campground and I get the "You pull that with that?". The dumfounded look I get when I tell them that my Treg is rockin' a V10 turbo diesel with 553 lb/ft of torque is priceless.

I strongly concidered a Tour-egg TDI when I was shopping for my CTT.

Very cool ride, very cool motor. I bit tricky to find. I was even more afriad of finding parts for it.

Audi Q7 3.0 TDI. The Audi is about 12" longer overall with a 6" longer wheelbase. More room and a better ride.

and 1000 pounds less towing capacity (6,700 vice the Cayenne and Touareg's 7,700 lbs)....

I'll say again - the Touareg oil burner is the best for me

What's the weight of that airstream thing ? Just to compare to what I trail with the pepper please.

BTW, my 7 year old son thought that if the tow bar at the rear had looked like a pig tail the car would really look like a big pig... I swear I never told him anything about the nick name...
