Question Anyone tried this Ebay backup camera?

I have an 04 CTT. Looks like a cheap solution for a backup cam.

I assume you would also purchase a small composite video input display to connect it to, unless you plan on sending your PCM out for modification?

I've seen some nice rear camera displays integrated into the rearview mirror.

This claims to plug right in with the RCA video in. I have not looked at the back of the PCM yet. Chrysler guys are using these generic cams with great success on their Harmon Becker manufactured nav systems.

All the unit wants to see is a video feed in. It should not be any different than any other set up.

Was more curious about the angle, quality, ease of install etc?

Anyone havev a picture of the back of our nav system?

How do they do it into the mirror??

That would be great and I could get rid of my non-dimming mirror - I hope!

The PCM slides out very easy. Pull it out and take a look. I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed...

If you figure it out how to do, please post. I bet this would become the most popular mod here.

Seems like a great solution... sure would like to know more about real-world connectivity.

I saw a thread somewhere where the guy had video running thought the center information display in the gauges. So it must be possible to hook the back up cam through that somehow.

Yeah there was an episode of Pimp My Ride where they did that.

They also had it where you could play Call of Duty on your PCM screen.

I think it's odd that it wouldn't integrate into the AV input of the pigs pig of an audio system.

A small part of the mirror(less than half) will display the rear camera image...is very simple...
Mazda Tribute has this option as standard on all models equipped with navi

There are many OEM's who sell mirrors with integrated LCD displays (along with compass displays, autodimming, Homelink buttons, etc)...Gentex is a company that comes to mind immediately.

You simply buy the one you want with the features you want and run the additional wires (VGA, reverse wire, etc) as needed. Fairly straightforward.
