Default Windshield Wiper Problem - Please Help!!!

Well, I have searched through this forum for answers on my specific problem, but I can't seem to find any answers. I have a 2004 Porsche Cayenne S with a driver side windshield wiper that doesn't wipe effectively. When the wiper blades are operating, the middle portion the d/s blade doesn't touck the windshield. I have discovered that as I push down on the wiperblade arm near its connection point at the base, it moves the base connection point over which fixes the problem. The only issue is that I am finding it difficult to hold down the wiper blade while I drive (especially in the rain) . Does anybody have any idea what I need to do? I really appreciate it.

Grab the arm with both hands and bend it in slightly so that it will apply more pressure in the middle of the blade.

the dealers have a tool which allows them to change the angle of attack of the blades on 03/04 models

Thank you for your responses. The closest dealer is 300 miles away, but... that might be what needs to happen in order to get it fixed!

Does someone have a picture of the caps on top of the wiper blades? I am trying to find out if they are both supposed to be flush. My driver side one is flush with the wiper blade while the passenger one is sticking up on one side. I have tried to take the cap on and off and it seems to stay that way.

How does Lewis explain the noise? "An elephant dragging its rear end across the windshield"?

What Mudman is talking about is basically a steel bar with a flat groove sawed or milled about 3/8" deep.

The fix is to twist the wiper arm with the tool (not the blade portion) in order to achieve a proper 90° angle to the windshield. I've wrapped duct tape around the jaws of a wide channel-lock plier and used it to twist the arm into the right angle. Just make sure to use plenty of tape so that you don't chip the paint off the arm.

You can also buy the actual tool which can be ordered thru a VW dealer, Part No.US9201 (Wiper Arm Adjustment Tool). I believe that Snap-On and Mac Tools also carry a similar tool.

This is what mine look like after being adjusted at the dealer. The driver one still looks flush while the passenger one is an angle. Does it look right? Anyone have a pic of theirs?

Just remember to imagine the blade sitting perpendicular to the windshield at an imaginary 90° angle. Your cell phone pics aren't clear enough to determine this.

I was not trying to show the blade, all i was trying to show was the cap that covers the top of the blade in the center is not flush like the driver side.
