Couldnt see anything like that so perhaps the side steps are covering them? The steps have a steel plate under them that goes under the car so make sense but i may be looking in the wrong place. I could only see bolts (M12 or bigger) which look like they fix the steps to the car?

Local indy wants $150 to take them out and drain the water (UK equivalent anyway) so wanted to have a crack at it myself first.

Lightbulb 2009 Cayenne sloshing around

Thank goodness you guys are here, am about to go look for the reason for the sloshing sound coming from my Cayenne for the last couple of months. Hopefully, it will save me a trip to the mechanic.

Since there are more than a couple cases of water ingress, should the plugs have been removed by the dealership upon delivery, or should they remain in place which might prevent rust formation? I would think the later, since clogged drains might be the culprit.

Have you checked for water in the hatch area where the spare tire is stored?

This area can completely fill with water when the drains are clogged.

Since yesterday about half a gallon of water came out of the driver-side plug when I removed from the bottom. I think I will leave it off for a couple of days tillits completely dried out before replacing the plug. I have not checked the other areas for water penetration. Thanks for the tips.

If you have water under the carpet, you will need to lift up the carpet to get it fully dried out.

There's some foam padding/sound deadening under the carpet. Once that gets good and wet, it will not dry out for months. Seriously.

That water in there long term will corrode the wiring connections under the carpet. Once those go, you will get a 'no crank' and all sorts of errors on the dash.

There's a really good write up on this in the DIY forum.
