Default Routing a cable from the battery to the rear

I want to run cable from the starter battery under the seat to the well under the space saver tyre, where I am installing a second battery (I don't have the bose) in my 2010 Cayenne.

Does anyone know if there is a route to do this (as I undertand earlier models had a battery there) or can someone point me in the right direction? I am hoping to sort it out before I have to access the battery to minimise pulling things apart.

I don't intend just connecting them in parallel.

I will install an isolator/controller between the two batteries. My LR3 had a similar smart charging system to the Porsche. I installed a Traxide unit (the only LR approved dual battery controller) between the starter and the auxilliary battery. This controls the charging of the aux battery, ensuring that the starter is at full charge before allowing a charge through to the auxilliary battery. It also isolates the starter battery if the auxilliary gets too low, to prevent flattening the starter and to protect the car's electronics.

The Porsche's electronics won't even know the second battery is there.

Yes! Although I'm not sure a car battery would be enough for those girls!

Probably need a 2-stroke Husky chainsaw engine for them.

Oh, and to the OP

1. Pull the driver's seat
2. Remove vent ducts under seat
3. Pull fusebox cover
4. Locate distribution point for cable attachment
5. Remove pass-side rocker panel cover (real PITA as it covers both front/rear)
6. Fold pass rear seat down
7. Unbolt lower seatbelt mount
8. Remove trim that connects rear side panel to pass-rear door
9. Work rear side panel loose (unbolts with T-15 I think -- Another PITA)
10. Remove floor panel that covers spare area.
11. Remove trim piece on rear floor area (between side panels and folding panel). You will need a T25 Torx for this.
12 Route cable under rear seat and carpet

This is all I can remember from doing a similar job while installing audio a few years ago.

It is not too difficult, just a pain in the ****.

Good luck
