Default 06 Titanium vs. 08 Touareg V8

From what I am seeing, the Titanium Cayenne's are running in the $35k to $40k range.

At the same time, you can pick up a 2008 Touareg V8 for the same price, if not cheaper.

Thoughts?

Warranty?
Always go with the one with the longest warranty IMHO.

We had a Touareg, don't even think about it without a warranty. Drive one of these naked and it's like a owning a boat - also known as a hole in the water you pour money into.

I definitely see a different between the two vehicles. One is a VW and the other is a Porsche. =-)

The reason I ask the question is because I prefer the 2008+ Cayenne S as compared to the 2006. But, from what I can see, the 2008+ models are going for $10k more than a 2006 Titanium.

The 2008+ Touareg V8 has the newer power plant, newer features (power lift gate, etc.), will be covered under warranty longer, etc. A good example is about the same price as a 2006 Titanium Cayenne.

The replacement vehicle will be driven less than 10K miles per year. Winter driving when the 911 is sleeping and summer driving when we need more room than the 911 has to offer.

Will be pulling the trigger this summer. I wonder if the prices on the 2008+ Cayenne's will drop in price as the year goes on. The first models should be coming off lease (36 months) soon and the 2011 model will be available as well.

Thoughts?

a CPO'd '06 is easily in that price range and that gives you 3 years of good-as-factory warranty
