Default Full Spare ,Finally!

Look on Porsche site and discover that 2011 model has a full size spare tire option. It is placed inside vehicle also. Now they finally offer what we should have had all along.

Great move in the right direction... now if they were to just throw in a spare set of coolant pipes...

Wonder if we can retrofit new tire setup in rear?

Fwiw, they've offered a full sized spare with an exterior mount for quite some time. Mounted externally, it doesn't take away useful and needed interior space,

Of interest is the fact that the spare does not come with a TPMS Sender, as it will supposedly interfere with the 4 channel receiver in the car.

I just did a 5 tire cross rotation and added a sender in that spare for a total of 5 senders on the car. It works beautifully, with no interference of any kind. The sender mounted in the current spare is apparently far enough away from the receivers and shielded by the metal backing of the mount so that it doesn't register in the system. Just a fwiw.

This sort of reminds me of Steve Martin in 'The Jerk' and how excited he got when the new phone book arrived...
