Default Water Leak, AC Condensation Drain Leaking? Help needed.

I have a small patch of water leaking from under the passenger side of the car. After searching this forum, I think it's coming from the AC Drain. The color is clear and there's no smell, so I assume it's water.

My question is, Is this a serious problem that I need to address now. I am 2k miles from my 60k service and wondering if I can wait to get everything done at once.

Also, does anyone know how much this would cost to fix? Thanks in advanced.

This is NORMAL!!!!!! This what we call condensation. Condensation is the process by which water vapor in the air is changed into liquid water. Just like that cold glass of lemonade or that ice cold beer on a summer afternoon, water condenses on the outside of the glass. The water vapor in the air condenses on the A/C evaporator (very cold when A/C is in use) collects and drains via the A/C water drain, this normal, this will happen alot more when the humidity is high. Nothing is wrong with your Cayenne. Just be happy it is making it out of the car onto the ground and not on your floor mats, then you would have a minor problem.

Thanks porsche52, but is it normal if the AC wasn't on, temp in CA is roughly 60's degree and it is still leaking? Maybe it's another problem but where else will clear liquid that looks like water come from?

Thanks mudman2, this makes sense now. I think it was the AC.

It is either AC or sunroof drain being blocked. Does it happen after it rains, or after the AC is running?

To check for sunroof drain, take a cup of water and pour it into the sunroof side well on the passenger side. Water should drain out onto the ground immediately. If not, look at this for the fix.

Good luck.

Question

I have a 2008 GTS and same deal. It appears the wiring has been taken care of by previous owners. Will drying out carpet do the trick?
