Default $1500 to inspect a Cayenne

So i am out shopping for a used 06 Cayenne...I called my local dealer and they want 1500 bucks to do a emission compression test.

Is there a cheaper alternative?

Emission compression test?? WTF
How much to check the muffler bearings?

Seriously a PPI should cost around $300.

For a few extra $$ you could buy an extended warranty or get the thing CPOd...... Run away from this dealer

For our future protection, who is the dealer in question?

I hope you're going to have them test the air in the tires.

A true compression test is not part of a normal inspection and would set you back a few hundred extra.... but $1500???

Locate a reputable dealer.

Emission compression test...that's a new one. Do they plug the tail pipe and check for exhaust leaks?

Ask for a copy of the compression test print out, from another vehicle, and post it here.

Why would anyone try to sell a diagnostic test as a condition of sale? What happens to your $1500 if it does not pass this imaginary test...apply it to another vehicle? lol

Perhaps the first tell tale sign of trouble might have been the fact that this dealer was wearing a mask and pointing a gun at you?

On the other hand, consider this the 'honeymoon' phase of Cayenne ownership.

Yes, call me (instead of your dealer) and I'll inspect it for $750
