What is the vent like open close switch in the top of the dash in the middle for. The manual just says Continous Opening and Closing switch

I can not tell what that means or does.

Its the cold air intake.........gas mileage is much better when open.

Use the search tool... you'll find that this one has been discussed before.

The effects of the switch are very subtle. It's hard to tell if it's open or closed.

I agree, I'm having a hard time understanding some of the phrases or explanations on this manual.

its simple. There are little creatures that man the aircon system. When you have the switch open the crumbs from your hoagie fall thru the vent and feed them, sometimes you can hear them at work

I did, I put in the search box above "Continuous Opening and Closing" and got three threads, none of them Cayenne related.

Is it called something different than what the manual states?

Ok, found a thread titled a couple of operating questions.

Basically for those that search for the words in the manual and hit this thread, the triangle is a vent and a speaker. I thought it was just a speaker.
