Default Factory Ipod Adaptor Problem

I have 2009 Cayenne S, and I have an issue with my factory Iphone Adaptor. Almost every time I turn the engine off and turn it back on, the audio system does not recognize Ipod anymore. I have to disconnect the Ipod cable and reconnect so that the audio system can recognize Ipod again. It doesn’t matter how long the engine is off. I tried on 4th generation Ipod, Ipod Touch, and Iphone, but I have the same issue with all three. Does anyone experience the same issue?

This happens to me occasionally in my 2016 Cayenne.

FWIW I've noticed two things..

1. Sometimes I need to reboot my iPod or iPhone to fix this. I suspect this is actually an issue on the iDevice end most times.

2. If I have anything else paired with the device which can also create audio output (e.g. Radar detector), then it will mute all other sounds sometimes when I start the car. I can see music playing on the PCM screen, but hear nothing. In that case I have to stop and start the music in iTunes on the iPhone. Again, I suspect this is more down to the iPhone than the car.
