Default Rear Hatch sensor problem

My rear hatch (glass) sensor keeps going off every time I hit a bump. Tried adjusting the glass stoppers as wells the latch. I also tried putting a wire heat shrink to extend the stud sensor, but to no avail.. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hate to say it, but this is a well-known and documented problem. Search this forum for a TON of details.

Oh, and be prepared for what may likely follow..... Lots of old time Cayenne owners having some laughs here in this thread. Don't be offended or put off. We've all earned our spurs with this particular vehicle and get a bit silly from time to time. It's not meant to be offensive, trust me. Be on the look out for squirrels, funny-sounding purple drinks and extraordinarily disturbing avatars of former Russian leaders!

I would do a visual inspection to determine which revision of the rear window microswitch you have.
I would then suggest a call to Jeff Clark at Sunset Imports (Porsche parts) and ask how much for the "latest and greatest" Cayenne rear window microswitch.

Great. I'll give them a call on Tuseday. Will post updates.

The good news is that the new switch is an inexpensive part.
