You mean TPMS? It should be just a matter of installing the proper sensors in each wheel and turning on or resetting the system.

How to be sure that the "receiving" side of the sensors are present ? ..and connected to the bus and PCM system ?
Does what you call the "reset" of the system is done by the PIWIS ?

As with any other retrofit of electronic components in a Cayenne, do not assume that the receiver side of the TPMS equation is there. If I recall, there are actually 4 separate TPMS receivers positioned in the wheel wells and associated wiring to bring the sensor signals back to the central CANBus. My guess is that a FACTORY retrofit will not be advisable. However, you should be able to retrofit an aftermarket TPMS like the Hella unit.

+1 ^ It is a little bit more complicated than just installing sensors in the wheels and flipping a switch. 4 antennas in wheel wells, connected to TPMS control unit. Then it communicates to Intrument cluster via CAN Bus. No retrofit kit available from Porsche. PCM or CDR 23 is irrelevant. Aftermarket is your only option.

I bought a Titanium Edition (S) pretty loaded, i.e.: air susp, 20" techno's, pano roof, park assist, dark woods, etc.. in Feb 07 (an 06 model) that left in the stock of Rector, an (excellent) dealer, here in CA.
I can say that after 6 Range Rover and 2 Grand Cherokee, it is more than a great car (now 36k miles) . But I'm missing the gear box reduction, the short 1st, is not a real solution in my taste.
So, back to TPMS, I had no choice of any options an would have enjoy to have tires pressure monitor, but, ..as I'm not much for aftermarket stuff, I will wait for the next one ..for TPMS !
I woudl also have enjoy the GSM phone option, and on this one, even if the little door is there for the GSM chip, I understood that it is like TPMS: no easy way to add it up.

RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY FAST! Unless you are a T-Mobile customer (and enjoy having a second mobile number), the factory GSM phone module is pretty limited. It will, generally, not work with AT&T service since their GSM service (not 3G) runs on 850Mhz. The factory phone module only does 1900Mhz.

That's a prime info, first class !
I tried quite hard to get my PCM upgraded when the car was new, but gave up as per very expensive cost ! I'm AT&T, so it would have been a bad 4 digit $ wasting !!!
I can't believe this from a technology oriented car copmpany !

Believe me, Porsche AG is *not* a technology-oriented car company. True, there is a lot of technology "under the hood" and inside the car to impact the driving experience. BUT! There is little, if any, useful technology that is customer-facing such as Bluetooth, etc..... Just ask those of us with PCM Navigation systems about map upgrades!
