Silver on black leather...and...due to the negative comments...I just sold it.

I'll just drive my 993 and stick to that forum.

You should have gone for the '03. I hear they are becoming collectible...

Seriously, dude...you'll love the Cayenne S, and it's a great combo with the 993...

Silver with black interior is a good combo!

There does seem to be a vocal contingent here that likes to belittle the Cayenne and new owners. Maybe that's why there are at least two other strong Porsche Forums on the web.

It's all in good fun.

It would be boring if all we ever did was talk about how much we love our Cayennes and love each other!

Don't let a little hickory sauce bother you.

Did it come with a 30 day money back no-questions asked guarantee?

On a serious note, you can't take us too literally. We love and hate our P!gs (some only hate) and many of us are beta survivors (MY04). 04 (and 03) were rough years that pretty much experienced every problem and can become real money pits if you end up paying for repairs (read if it has no warranty). So yes, 04's receive little love even though some are fine (esp later production dates).

On the bright side, 04's come with cowboy belt buckles...complimentary.

What are the other forums? Renntech? More technical - certainly not as entertaining as here.

Seriously, I have no problems in good jest...I think it's a blast to drive. If I have some maintenance issues - I guess I'll have to get them addressed when they come up.

Pretty fun for an SUV - but still no 993S.

Uh oh. You mean you didn't really sell it?

Some people on this forum are going to be disappointed.

Sure you'll have maintenance issues, but that is to be expected. Hopefully the more common issues with that vehicle have already been addressed. It's not cheap to own but neither is your 993 I'm sure. If we were averse to repair bills we would all be driving friggin' Accords. We know we have to pay to play, and life is too short to not play.

Have fun!

You gotta like the way the Cayenne S V8 sounds when you start it, and when you open it up...

Congrats on your purchase. I also hope that the car works out for you. Driving my CS has been a real fun and yes even my 05 has had issues, thankfully most happened under warranty. This same "weak" forum and the tips by other members saved me few $$$ right before the warranty ended.

The question is if you like sporty driving and need/want an "Suv" (and I emphasize the S) what would be your other choice? As you already may know your CS and 911 are and meant to be very different vehicles.

Some say it's a VW with a P badge, I disagree... as much as they are built on the same platform, they differ as much in driving. Isn't that what a Porsche is about? The driving experience?

and BTW if things got real bad you want to get rid off it send it right here (EW's avatar's is only a hint) where Cayenne owners get free and unlimited sidewalk parking.

GL.

Not sure if you're 'speaking' to me; but my other off-road vehicle choice is a Mercedes G. I've been driving one for 25 yrs.

I meant it as a general question. Now back to your comment, wasn't the G class designed and built for the Shah's army in the 70s? from what I have heard, the G class's off road capabilities are superb (most possibly superior to Cayenne), my point with the Cayenne is that it drives like a sports car when needed and can comfortably fit 5 people, a great answer for the entire family needs.
