The Turbo S brakes were first introduced as part of the Cayenne Power Kit option.
Then, in true WW Marketing PAG fashion, then the option was not as popular as expected, inventory had to be reduced, hence the Turbo S was created to use up the available (option) inventory.

(A similar situation first occurred with the 996TT X50 Powerkit and the immediate thereafter introduction of the 996 Turbo S).

The aforementioned larger brake rotors brought with them some minor nuisances, like the inability to run 18" wheels (don't clear the calipers) and the availability of non OEM replacement parts.

Interestingly enough, I don't seem to recall what the differences in stopping distances were between the 'standard' Turbo brakes and the Turbo S/Powerkit brakes when tested on the P!g....

Since IIRC it was determined in a previous thread that EW was 'expecting', I am just going with "hormone induced avatar mood swings".

At Sunset: US$456 for a CS front brakes "full set" of parts, i.e.: pads, disks, sensors, bolts and spring kit, shipping included ! (happy OR with no sales taxes !)

Don't know if you were still looking for a source of aftermarket rotors for your Cayenne Turbo S, but Autohaus Arizona (www.autohausaz.com) has Zimmermans (OE supplier) for the front of the Turbo S at $100 each. FWIW I have no affiliation with them, other than being a happy customer.

scarneva:

Appreciate the reply - those rotors look to be 350mm instead of 380mm - do you have a Turbo S and have you used it on it by chance? If so, any issues?

Isn't the Min. rotor thickness stamped on each rotor?

Scott,

I have a std Turbo, not Turbo S, so no help there. But since they show a listing for the Turbo S, it may be worth a phone call to find out if the 350mm spec on the site is a typo.
