Larry's Rolling Over in His Grave Right About Now.......
So I knew I was going to have to do something in the next 6-8 months as my 2006 Cayenne Turbo was going to run out of warranty. As much as I love the car and its abilities to go fast and pull my enclosed 24 foot Haulmark for Tweety Bird, it was not in the cards to keep the car beyond the warranty period.
I considered buying a Tahoe or Suburban as a tow vehicle and then trying to find a 993 Twin Turbo for a "fun" car, but the Better Half had other plans that did not include me having four cars! AND when I priced out what I would want in a new Suburban, I was going to be close to $57,500! I was determined to avoid having only a Suburban to drive every day since I enjoy driving a car every now and then.
Lo and behold, Park Place had a 2008 Cayenne GTS CPO car. And at a GREAT price with only 6600 miles on it. It had all the options I wanted, and .....
it's got PDCC and a SIX SPEED!
Was finally able to negotiate a deal I was happy with and made the deal today.
Here's a few pics.
Sorry Larry, I know this pains you. It *is* fun to drive though.

I'm short 42 HP on the GTS. But run the car in Sport mode and it's a different beast. I really like the ability to determine my own shift points instead of allowing some software module "discern" my driving patterns.
It truly is a lot of fun to drive. I can live with this as a daily driver!

Did it with my '04 (Beta) S. Did it with my '06 Turbo. Plan to do so with the new GTS. No problems...... Only because I use low-tech stuff like incandescent lights versus LED lights, old-fashioned inertial moment brake controllers instead of digital ones, etc....
Tows great Mooty!

Mooty,
You are a 'dead duck'. Why? You are spending too much time on this forum, I predict you are down to narrowing colors.
There is a turbo in your future.... and you will love it. Just stay in the slow lane after the Benicia bridge.

I know, I know. The older I get the fewer challenges I am willing to take on. That said, it *will* be interesting to pull the trailer. Won't have a real chance to do so until early October. Film at 11!
